2nd Reunion Match & Social
Club Origins
Dennis has put together the following synopsis of how the club was started:

The Hoverlloyd Cricket Club was formed in 1973 in which year we played lots of friendly games including Banstead CC, Stamford CC (Westenhanger), the Old Red Lion PH on the Sandwich Road near the power station (no longer there), The Duke of Cumberland PH at Barham and of course Distillers.

Our first friendly was against Ranks Hilger where we acquired our first kit kindly given to us by them, some of which we still have.
We entered the Thanet Works League in 1974 and our claim to fame during that year was having a run of six matches undefeated which was ended by defeat by Rediffusion. We also reached the Division 2 and 3 Cup Final where we lost to Haffendens by 27 runs, having beaten them a week before in a league game by 3 wickets.
Hoverlloyd CC also entered a sports quiz held at the White Horse Pub at St Lawrence.
Some headlines during those first two years can be seen in the pictures page.
The 2010 game: Ian and Brian gently adding to our score
Following the cancellation of the 2011 game we are looking to have a re-match about the same time as the full reunion in May 2012.
